The Clarks Village shopping centre in Street has reached capacity today (July 25), which is currently limited due to coronavirus restrictions.

The centre has said that if shoppers still plan to visit, they have to expect to queue at the entrances.

As well as limiting capacity, the centre has put a number of other safety measures in place including:

- Hand sanitiser points located at entrance and exits.

- A one-way system is in place to ensure social distancing can be maintained.

- No stopping zones have been introduced at a small number of points within the mall area to ensure social distancing can be maintained.

- A queuing system has been introduced for entry to the centre and stores, to ensure social distancing can be maintained.

- All centre staff have been provided with masks and will be operating throughout the centre as Social Distancing Champions, supporting guests wherever possible.

- Signs, banners, posters and painted floor markers help remind guests to keep a safe distance apart.

A new attraction at the shopping centre is in the new Clarks outlet store, which is the brand's largest in the world.

Clarks Village is also planning on rebranding and modernising, with an application submitted for a number of changes including at the High Street and Farm Road entrances.
