Street Market, run by Mendip District Council, supported the national Love Your Local Market (LYLM) campaign which celebrates our traditional markets and their dedicated traders.
A LYLM banner was proudly displayed at each market in the district and posted on social media to showcase the variety and quality of traders in Mendip, to highlight their importance to the local economy and to demonstrate how they feature at the heart of our local communities.

Director of Netball at Millfield School in Street, Jenna Adamson, has become only the second coach in England to attain a Level 3 Netball Coaching Qualification alongside holding her A award in officiating.
Jenna is the only active individual to currently hold both these prestigious qualifications in the country.

As Covid-19 cases remain high in Somerset, there is a renewed call for people to step forward and become Covid Community Champions.
The Covid Community Champion Network has been going from strength to strength since it was first launched in October last year. There are now well over 100 trained Champions across Somerset, sharing messages about Covid-19 and how to stay healthy, happy and safe with their friends, family and work colleagues.

Clarks Village in Street will open its Christmas Market on 11 November and the shopping outlet has revealed that this year it is offering regional traders the chance to showcase their festive-related food, drinks and Christmas gifts free-of-charge.
The outlet will be hosting a variety of traders in the run-up to Christmas, including festive foodie favourites such as mulled wine and Prosecco, fresh crepes and chocolate-coated marshmallow 'Christmas kisses'.

Police officers in Avon and Somerset won't be chasing suspects in £40,000 Teslas in the next few years.
Mark Shelford, the police and commissioner who holds the purse strings for the force, was urged to do more to address the climate emergency but said his priority was keeping people safe now.
Dozens of local businesses attended the launch of the Mendip Business Hub at Wells Town Hall.
The Mendip Business Hub is a new online Council service which works with businesses in the district by providing expert advice, guidance, and support. It is a one-stop-shop for information, networking opportunities, consultancy, and events.
