The Victoria Social Club in Street currently has a couple of openings in its Function Room class slots.
Currently available are two slots on Mondays - from 11am to 2pm, and from 6pm to 11pm.

A total of 13 former students at Millfield School in Street will be taking part in the upcoming Toyko Olympic Games.
Nine athletes will be part of Team GB, one will be competing for Kenya, Denmark, Brunei and Hong Kong.

A swimmer from Street, who attended Crispin School in the village, has been selected for Team GB to compete at the Tokyo Olympic Games 2021.
Brodie Williams, who also attended Millfield School in Street from 2013 to 2017, will be competing for Team GB in the 400m individual medley and the 200m backstroke.

Swimming star Joseph Deighan has big shoes to fill as he aims to follow in a long line of Olympians from Millfield School in Street.
The 18-year-old, who specialises in the 400m, 800m and 1500m freestyle, attends the independent school that has had 24 Olympians in its history and had a swimmer appear at every Olympic Games since 1968.

Motorbike racer Damon Smith, from Street, is lying joint fifth in the championship and broke his personal lap record following a weekend's racing at Castle Combe in Wiltshire.
There was some down to the wire in bike prep for last weekend's NG Road Racing Grand National Weekend at Castle Combe Circuit, as Damon collected the DS Racing Kawasaki up from AFB Motorcycles after a gearbox refresh and new battery but with no starter motor which failed at the last round at Donington Park, it was arranged to have it delivered to the circuit before testing in the afternoon.

Last weekend saw the latest round of the NG Road Racing championships at Donington Park near Derby where Street motorcycle racer Damon Smith contested in the Stock 1000 class on board the DS Racing Kawasaki #23.
The Donington Park 1.96-mile National circuit is fast and flowing with a series of high speed sweeping corners opening out onto the fast and undulating Dunlop straight. Donington is all about high corner speed and smooth riding.

Sport stars Tyrone Mings, Jonathan Joseph and Sarah Winckless are backing a new fundraising campaign by Millfield School in Street to offer life-changing bursaries to future students.
Tyrone Mings, Aston Villa and England footballer; Jonathan Joseph, Bath Rugby and England rugby player; and Sarah Winckless, Olympic rower, world champion and first woman to umpire the 2021 Oxford and Cambridge boat race; all attended Millfield as bursary recipients and went on to have hugely successful careers.

Fans of the Street parkrun will be disappointed to hear that its return has been delayed along with parkrun 5k events across England due to a lack of support from landowners.
More than 250 events in England obtained landowner permission to return, including Street, however this fell far short of the number needed for it to return on June 5 as hoped.

Motorbike racer Damon Smith, from Street, came away from the first round of the championship at Brands Hatch with a trophy in a strong start to the season.
This was the first race weekend of the 2021 North Gloucester Road Racing Championship season with Damon onboard the DS Racing Kawasaki #23 Kawasaki ZX10R, racing in the Stock 1000cc class.
