A new reserves manager is being sought by Street Football Club after Bry Ashton and his management team have decided to step down after four years.

Many players have come through the reserves during this time to go on and represent Street at Western League level.

Working closely with the first team management, the club says the vacant position would suit someone with the drive to push for Reserve team honours while developing players to step up into the first team.

Previous management experience and FA coaching qualifications would be an advantage, but more importantly is having the passion to develop the side and young players within the club. For further details, contact first team manager Nik Andrews on 07869 117724.

Bry Ashton said: "I would like to say a big thank you to everyone on and off the pitch.

"I have loved the four years and am glad to stay involved with the club to assist with the under-18s.

"I felt it was time to step away to devote more time to see family and friends, and maybe get the golf clubs out. A big thank you to Simon, Tom and Lee who have been terrific."

Meanwhile, the club has also announced there will be a change in secretary of the Cobblers in the coming weeks.

After five years' dedicated service, secretary Richard Palette has announced his intention to stand down to take up roles with both the Western League and Somerset FA.

Richard joined Street in 2016 and helped steer the club through the next three years including taking the difficult but necessary decision to seek voluntary relegation from the Southern League at the end of the 2018/19 season.

Thereafter he was primarily responsible for rescuing the club from the financial difficulties which threatened its very survival and has played a major role in ensuring stability since then in particular during the upheavals of the past 12 months.

The club is pleased to announce that Richard's position will be filled by Steve Bambury who has accepted an invitation to join the Cobblers.

Steve comes to Street after five years with Ash Rovers FC and is looking forward to handling the reins at senior level.

Steve takes up his position effective from April 1 on which date the club's email address will change to [email protected] although Richard will keep the existing address live for a while to ensure nothing gets lost in the transition.
