Former students from Millfield School in Street battle for home nation sides in 2021 Six Nations

During the 2021 Guinness Six Nations rugby championships, Street's Millfield Rugby has a representative in every home nations' squad.

Former Millfield students Mako Vunipola (England), Huw Jones (Scotland), Callum Sheedy (Wales) and Rhys Ruddock (Ireland) have featured on the team sheets for their respective national squads for various fixtures the 2021 Six Nations. The current champions are England, who won the 2020 tournament.

Former Millfield students Adam Hastings and Josh Bayliss were also called up to Scotland's training squad.

The Six Nations is an annual international men's rugby union competition between the teams of

England, France, Ireland, Italy, Scotland and Wales.

Millfield's director of rugby is former Bath and England prop John Mallett. He is supported by a

team of 18 coaches, including Mike Baxter (Bath and Scotland Sevens) as assistant director of

Rugby.

There are a large number of Old Millfieldians who are playing and have played international rugby.

Currently this includes Chris Robshaw, Harlequins and former Captain for England; England prop, Mako Vunipola; Jonathan Joseph, Bath and England; Huw Jones and Adam Hastings, Glasgow and Scotland; and Gareth Edwards of Wales and the British Lions who is an Old Millfieldian.

John Mallett, who has overseen Rhys, Callum, Huw and Mako as they passed through the Millfield Rugby programame, said: "It's fantastic to see so many former Millfield Rugby players represent their countries in such a prestigious tournament.

"We are so proud of our alumni, who inspire our current students every day with their success on the international stage.

"Our Sir Gareth Edwards Pitch has seen so many talented players and we can't wait to see more inspiring Millfield students represent their countries in the future."

The championship's fifth round sees Scotland vs Italy, Ireland vs England and France vs Wales in a Super Saturday fixture set up, with the championship coming to a close on Friday March 26 after the postponement of the France vs Scotland game in Round 3.
