A swimmer from Street, who attended Crispin School in the village, has been selected for Team GB to compete at the Tokyo Olympic Games 2021.

Brodie Williams, who also attended Millfield School in Street from 2013 to 2017, will be competing for Team GB in the 400m individual medley and the 200m backstroke.

Brodie will take part in his first games as a Team GB swimmer. He won gold at the 2018 European Aquatics Championships in the 4 x 100m medley relay.

He aims to improve on the performances during the trials and enjoy all that competing in the Olympic Games has to offer.

Brodie came to Millfield in Year 10 to further his swimming career . He worked closely with director of swimming Euan Dale, who nurtured him when he arrived from Crispin.

Brodie's recent performance at the European Aquatic Championships was a promising competition ahead of his Olympic campaign.

Twenty-two-year-old Brodie said: "I'm aiming to improve on my performances during the trials and just go out there, do my best and enjoy the experience.

"Millfield gave me the opportunity to train in an elite programme from the age of 14 and this is all down to the great Euan Dale for aiding me and taking me to where I am now."
