Woman and dogs trapped as campervan overturns in Street

A woman and two dogs had to rescued after their campervan overturned in Street this afternoon (February 20).

Just after 2.15pm, a fire engine from Wells, one from Street and a Heavy Rescue Unit from Glastonbury were all sent to a report of a campervan that had overturned in Butleigh Road.

On arrival crews confirmed the campervan had turned over into a ditch and there was one woman and two dogs still inside.

Crews rescued both the woman and the dogs safely and left the incident in the hands of police and ambulance.
