There is a vacancy for the West Ward of Street Parish Council following the resignation of David Ellis.

If, by July 20, a request for an election to fill the vacancy is made in writing to the Returning Officer, Mendip District Council, Cannard's Grave Road, Shepton Mallet, BA4 5BT by 10 electors for the West Ward, an election will be held, otherwise the vacancy will be filled by the parish council by co-option.

If an election is requested, a poll cannot currently take place until May 6 2021 as a result of the Local Government and Police and Crime Commissioner (Coronavirus) (Postponement of Elections and Referendums) (England and Wales) Regulations 2020 and the Coronavirus Act 2020.

The remaining councillors for the West Ward are Mike Daniells and Terry Napper.
