A woman was treated at the scene for smoke inhalation when a toaster caused a fire at a home in Street yesterday (January 24).

Just after 5.15pm, a fire engine from Street was sent to reports of a fire alarm sounding in the village's Orchard Road.

On arrival crews discovered a fire involving a toaster and surrounding items. One female casualty was treated with oxygen therapy for smoke inhalation.

There was 20 per cent damage to the toaster, 50 per cent damage to the curtains and 100 per cent light smoke logging to the property.
