A student at Strode College in Street has walked hundreds of miles and raised hundreds of pounds for a epilepsy sudden death charity - and she isn't finish yet.
At the start of the year, Chloe Smith set herself a challenge - to walk 1,000 miles in the Race the World 2021 Challenge and raise money for SUDEP - the Sudden and Unexpected Death of Epilepsy charity.
SUDEP Action is dedicated to raising awareness of epilepsy risks and tackling epilepsy. Chloe wanted to give back to the charity after they took care of bereavement costs when someone close to her heart passed away unexpectedly of this cause.
She said: "I am exceptionally proud of what I have achieved so far.
"The weather has not been good at times, and despite this I have managed to complete over half the challenge.
"I have found that walking has helped my mental health during this difficult time and given me something other than college work to focus on - I have used it as a way of giving myself a break from work.
"The charity is aware of my challenge, and are very grateful for my support, as I they are not very well known and challenges such as mine are a good way of promoting them."
Since starting the challenge on January 1, Chloe has now raised £513 and walked 583 miles, while also working hard on her A-level studies.
She expects to complete the walking distance by August and would like to invite everyone to learn more about SUDEP and to kindly donate to her cause on her JustGiving site here.
