Students at Crispin School in Street have been celebrating some outstanding achievements following the publication of their GCSE and BTEC results.
This year, following the cancellation of examinations, grades were awarded through a process of centre assessed grades, against a national standard, and approved and awarded by the exam boards.
The government is not publishing performance data for any schools or colleges this year due to the varying impact of the pandemic.
As a school, Crispin do not feel it right to comment on headline figures but staff wanted to highlight some examples of students' fantastic achievements.
Annabel Gilmour and Lottie Mills both gained ten Grade 9s and a Level 3 Mathematics award, Annabel also gained an A in Additional Mathematics.
Jack Govier gained eight Grade 9s, two Starred Distinctions in BTEC and a Level 3 Mathematics award. Roxana Rusu gained eight Grade 9s, three Grade 8s and a Level 3 Mathematics award.
Megan Dallimore gained seven Grade 9s and three Grade 8s; Andrew Hewitt gained seven Grade 9s, two Grade 8s and a Grade 7; Julia Fallows gained six Grade 9s, three Grade 8s and two Grade 7s while Emily Trotman gained five Grade 9s, four Grade 8s and a Starred Distinction in her BTEC.
A number of other students made outstanding progress and achieved fantastic results and were on average over two grades above their already challenging targets, including Edie Carney, Kaylee Nisbet, Madeleine Slade, Tatiana Turley, Stefania Ghiveci, Daisy Jones, Emily Baker, Jamie Chinnock, Isabelle Walker, Amber Wilson, Alex Nobes, Holly Atton, Oliver Ganfield, Louis Guidi, Faye Porter, Charlotte Parfitt, Louise Davies, Niamh Nel and Paulina Beczowska. In total, 68 students averaged a grade above their targets.
Assistant head teacher, Helen Forward, was pleased that the grades awarded "reflected the hard work of so many students during their time at Crispin". She felt "it was only right that students gained grades that rewarded their effort and attainment".
Head teacher, Paul Reddick, said: "The students collecting their results this year have been a pleasure to work with and would have done extremely well in any event.
"Despite the disruption of the last 18 months, students have worked extremely hard and their successes reward their diligence.
"Colleagues at Crispin have worked tirelessly to ensure students have been able to maximise their progress and take the next steps in their learning. We wish all our students every success and happiness in the future."
