Year 11 students at Millfield School are celebrating today (August 12) after receiving their GCSE exam results, with three of the highest achievers coming from Street.
Another different year for exams as we know them has seen the Millfield Year 11 cohort excel in this year's set of teacher assessed examinations.
Headmaster, Gavin Horgan, said: "I am full of pride seeing our Year 11 students receive their exam results today.
"They have been truly brilliant, resilient and committed to their studies and school life in what has been another unpredictable year surrounding exams.
"They should be extremely proud of their achievements, each and every student has learnt valuable lessons that they can take forward to their future Sixth Form studies and beyond."
Ten students achieved an outstanding nine grade 9s in their subjects.
James Champion lives in Street, and has been a day student since joining Millfield Prep in Year 5. He is a strong all-rounder, with a strong academic record and involvement in school sport. He is particularly keen on hockey and will be part of the 1st XI for the 2021-22 season. He is also a good tennis player and is part of the school team.
Xanthe Clothier, from Street, joined Millfield in Year 9. She is an exceptional musician, achieving Grade 8 on both cello and violin. She performs with the Orchestra, String Orchestra and numerous different Chamber Ensembles, several of which have gained great success in the Pro Corda National Festival. She is also a regular solo recitalist in our concert series.
Jay Jasani, from Nairobi, Kenya, started boarding at Millfield in Year 9. He is an exceptional individual, committed to his studies alongside being fully engaged in the all-encompassing Millfield swimming programme, meaning early mornings and balancing his workload.

Anna Townsend, from Buckinghamshire, has boarded at Millfield since Year 9. She is a keen sportswoman, a prominent player in Millfield's first cricket team and at county level for Buckinghamshire, playing tennis as well as U16 netball.
Solomon Williams, also from Buckinghamshire, started boarding at Millfield Prep in Year 8. He has taken part in a myriad of olympiads alongside his academic, sport and music commitments. He is a member of Millfield's swim squad and is a grade 8 pianist, regularly performing as part of Millfield's concert series.
Chichi Okafor, who lives in Canada, started boarding at Millfield in Year 9. She has balanced her academic commitments with playing netball at county level and swimming. Chichi demonstrated exceptional commitment to her school work during both periods of remote learning, waking up at 4am in Canada, where the family was based, to attend all lessons live despite the time difference. Chichi is a singer who performs in several choral ensembles including Choral Society and, from September, will be a member of Millfield's Chamber choir Camerata.
James Sclater joined Millfield Prep in Year 7, is from Sturminster Newton, Dorset and is a boarder. James is as committed to his classroom subjects as he is to tennis and playing percussion in the school's percussion ensemble. Throughout the two years of his GCSE courses he featured in music concerts as well as competing in tennis tournaments, including National Schools, NPL (National Premier League) and at county level for the men's team.
Isabella Woollard, from Uxbridge, Greater London, has boarded since joining Millfield Prep in Year 7. She is a committed and talented swimmer and netball player, having recently been selected into the Team Bath Netball Academy Development Centre.
