A holiday park in Edington will now be allowed to welcome tourists all-year round after planning approval was given.

A planning application was submitted to Sedgemoor District Council for the variation of a condition on planning approval for Edington Farm Lodge Park, Edington Farm, Holywell Road, Edington, by Edington Properties Ltd, that did not allow tourists to stay at the park during a set period of time in the winter.

The park was granted planning permission in 2007, and Sedgemoor have now agreed to remove the restriction that did not allow the holiday lodges to be occupied between January 10 and February 10 each year, agreeing that removing the rule would help the park's viability as it could have paying tourists for all 12 months of the year.

One other planning application in the Street area was decided this week:

Application for approval of details reserved by condition 6 (foul and surface water drainage) on planning consent 2017/0776/FUL at Riggiston Farm, Main Street, Walton, by Mr C Bishop has been approved.

Planning applications in the Street area that have been received this week include:

Erection of summer house with shed attached (retrospective) at 32 Queens Road, Street, has been applied for by Mr Nurjahan Begum.

Erection of two-storey rear extension and internal alterations are wanted at Rubbery Farm, Rubbery Lane, Lydford-on-Fosse.

Erection of single-storey side/rear extension and carport at 23 Smithfield Road, Street, has been applied for by Mr J Cooper.
