Plans to build five homes on a farm in Ashcott have been given the go-ahead by Sedgemoor District Council.
A planning application for the building of five dwellings on the site of existing buildings to be demolished at Pipers Farm, Berhill, Ashcott, had been submitted by Mrs Pocock.
The site comprises former commercial premises with tied residential accommodation, and the use of the site for the manufacture of equestrian products has ceased.
The plan will see the creation of two inter-linked small courtyards with five two-storey dwellings utilising stone and render under tiled or slate roofs while maintaining substantial areas of undeveloped land plus trees and planting.
Each house will have a double garage with workspace/office above to enable the occupants to work from home or to run a small business from these premises while having a degree of independence and separation from the main residential element.
The other planning decision made in the Street area this week is the following:
A single-storey rear extension and render and paint to the existing side and rear elevations at 1 Wilton Orchard, Street, by Mr Justin Rose has been approved.
The planning application submitted in the Street area this week is the following:
Erection of a car sales showroom, sales office, workshop, and MOT Testing Station at land to the south of the garage, Bath Road, Ashcott, has been applied for by DSM Motors Ltd.
