Firefighters tackled a tractor blaze on the edge of Street yesterday afternoon (September 27).

Just after 2.30pm, two fire engines from Street and Somerton along with the water carrier from Bridgwater were mobilised to reports of a tractor on fire in a farm yard at Marshalls Elm.

On arrival crews confirmed the tractor was well alight and got to work extinguishing the fire using a foam jet, one hose reel jet and two breathing apparatus.

Crews used a thermal image camera to check the tractor and confirmed the cause of the fire was accidental causing 95 per cent damage to the vehicle.
