Two barns in Butleigh are set to be converted into homes after plans submitted to Mendip District Council were given the go-ahead.

Two planning applications for prior approval for a proposed change of use of agricultural buildings to a dwellinghouse (Class C3) and for associated operational development at Reservoir Barns, Reynald's Way, Butleigh, were submitted by Angus MacDonald.

The barns are part of a four-barn complex near to Longroves Reservoir and, now the plans have been approved, one barn can be demolished while one other can be converted into a five-bedroom home and another into a three-bedroom home.

Other planning applications in the Street area that have been decided this week include:

Retrospective application for the stationing of a static caravan at Brue Farm, Street, by Mr Alan King has been approved.

Retrospective application for the erection of an internally-illuminated sign on glazing, internally-illuminated aluminium fascia panel with acrylic lettering and existing illuminated roundel to be reskinned at Unit A, Clarks Village China and Glass Pavilion, Farm Road, Street, by Mr Athos Loizou has been approved.

Application for a non-material amendment to permission 2019/1187/HSE for a larger window and bifold doors on the south elevation at Cold Harbour Cottage, Back River Drove, Sharpham, by Mr Blinman has been approved.

Alterations to existing outbuilding to form home office at The Coach House, Broadmead Lane, Edington, by Mrs Cunningham have been approved.
