If you are thinking of popping into the McDonald's in Street for a walk-in takeaway - don't.

The fast food chain has announced that all its 1,300 restaurants across the country have been closed for walk-in takeaways.

The Street restaurant will remain open for drive-through and delivery but customers will no longer be allowed inside to place orders, even if they are taking them out, following the announcement of the new national pandemic lockdown.

The company says it has taken the step while it reviews and reassesses safety procedures.
