After careful consideration of views from residents and others, Street Parish Council have decided to continue with the current restrictions in the High Street until the end of September.

This will assist with social distancing especially at times when people are queuing outside of shops and banks.

Previous consultation carried out as part of the Neighbourhood Plan process indicated that many residents were in favour of pedestrianising the High Street and this can now be trialled as part of the current closure.

Cafes, etc, will be encouraged to apply to Mendip District Council for a pavement licence to have tables and chairs outside.
