Firefighters from Street helped to free a casualty following a crash between a tractor and a car on the A361 yesterday afternoon (May 10).

Just after 3.30pm, Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Control received a call from the police requesting assistance with a collision on the A361 Main Road in East Lyng.

They had received initial reports of a van and tractor being involved with one person still within the van.

Fire control immediately mobilised one fire engine from Taunton Fire Station and one from Street Fire Station.

On arrival crews confirmed this collision was involving a tractor and a car with one person medically, but not physically, trapped within the car.

Crews assisted ambulance paramedics on scene to assess the casualty and assist them from the vehicle.

Crews then made vehicles safe prior to leaving the scene.
