Firefighters from Street helped to free two people who were trapped following a two-vehicle crash in Glastonbury yesterday evening (July 13).

Just after 5pm, crews from Glastonbury and Street fire stations responded to a two-vehicle collision in Glastonbury where both vehicles had people trapped inside.

One female was suffering from neck and back pain following the side impact collision. One male had no injuries but was awaiting assessment by paramedics.

Crews got to work stabilising both vehicles. A decision was made to remove the roof and side of one of the vehicles in order to safely extricate the female casualty, which crews did with hydraulic rescue equipment.

The male casualty was released, and duty of care was left with the police. The female casualty was taken to hospital via ambulance.
