Street Football Club are pleased to confirm they will be welcoming back their loyal family of supporters to the Tannery Ground this week.

Due to new government guidelines and Covid-19 standards in place at the ground, supporters will now be able back in to cheer on the Cobblers.

The Tannery Ground capacity is 1,000 paying supporters. The first game on Thursday August 27 under new guidelines allows the club 15 per cent of their capacity, so the gate for this match will be 150 supporters.

They can then move on to a second home match on September 5, which will be the club's first league game of the coming season, with a doubling up to to 30 per cent of gate capacity, or 300 fans.

Street FC chairman Clive Cabble told Street Nub News: "What a first game we have on September 5, our first league game will be against local rivals Shepton Mallet.

"It will be a big test on and off the pitch. Our Covid team of volunteers will be tested as will our young team on the pitch.

"Our clubhouse will be open with all the licensing regulation in place. We are sorry, but there will not be any food on the day.

"To help with the bar there will be a bottle bar open. We have expanded our outside space for more customers to be undercover if there is any bad rain.

"Before all this there is just a matter of an FA Cup game to be played. This will be at Sherborne FC on September 2 with a 7.30pm kick-off.

"We played Sherborne in a pre-season friendly and were made very welcome and well looked after, so come along and cheer the Cobblers into the next round."
