The Street Community Support Group has been working hard on a new project to help provide a boost to the mental wellbeing of people in our community.
The project, made possible with the help of Somerset Community Foundation and Woodland Horticulture Ltd, will provide free grow your own seed packs to the residents of Street.
Although there is hope on the horizon for the roadmap out of lockdown, there are still a few difficult months to get through, and this project has been created for those who feel they would benefit from something to keep themselves (or their children) occupied over the next few weeks.
The packs have been carefully designed so that anybody who wants to grow something from seed, can, regardless of whether they have a garden or not.
There are four different packs on offer for residents to grow their own sunflowers, tomatoes or succulents, or create seed bombs to grow wild flowers.
Each pack includes easy to follow instructions suitable for all ages and contains everything people will need to grow from seed through to "potting on" when the plants get bigger.
Seed packs can be collected from members of the Street Community Support Group on Saturday March 13 between 10am and 1pm from Wilfrid Road in Street.
Rest assured, you won't be able to miss them. Please note, seed packs are limited and will be offered on a first come, first served basis. Please adhere to social distancing measures while collecting.
If you are currently shielding or isolating but will still like to get involved, call Michaela on 07814 793611 before March 11.
