Street Library is running a children's writing competition for ages five to 11, with guest judge and Scholastic author, Annaliese Avery.

Chosen winners will receive a chocolate and book goody bag as well as a personalised video message from Annaliese for their school.

In no more than 500 words, entrants have to write a poem or story - pictures can be included - saying what makes their perfect day.

Entries should be in no later than April 30. Either post through the library's letterbox outside the building or email your entry to [email protected].

Do not forget to put your child's full name and school on the entry.

A spokesperson for the library said: "We cannot wait to see what wonderful ideas children come up with.

"Keep an eye out on our Facebook page for extra tips and advice."
