A proposal to create a self-build home in a field currently containing outbuildings in Ashcott has been withdrawn.

The planning application for the creation of a self-build dwelling with attached garage on land to the north of 2-8 Taunton Road, Ashcott, was submitted to Sedgemoor District Council by Mr and Mrs Wilkins.

The home was to have four or more bedrooms and have parking for six cars, plus it had been supported by Ashcott Parish Council, but the plans have now been withdrawn.

Other planning applications in the Street area that have been decided this week include:

Replacement of existing timber garden building and log store with new garden building in excess of 2.5m high and change of use of part rear garden from agricultural to residential at Shilling House, High Street, West Lydford, by Mrs Jane Frampton has been approved.

Application for approval of details reserved by conditions 11 (bird nest boxes and bird terraces), on planning consent 2017/2763/FUL on a site north of Pursey's Garage, Main Street, Walton, by Ms Zoe Bartholomew has been approved.

Application for a non-material amendment to permission 2020/0850/HSE for the addition of a window on the rear elevation, repositioning of double doors and roof lights, and alterations to the external facing materials from cladding to reclaimed stone at 1 Gilberts Corner, Burnetts Lane, Baltonsborough, by Mr and Mrs Swayne has been approved.

Change of use of existing storage building used in connection with builder's yard to an agricultural storage building at Fendt Cottage, Little Leaze Lane, Catcott, by Mr D Gardner has been approved.
