A planning application to Sedgemoor District Council to convert a barn in Edington into three homes has been withdrawn.

The application to determine if prior approval is required for a proposed change of use of an agricultural building to three dwellinghouses (Class C3), and for associated building operations at Moorcroft, Holywell Road, Edington, had been submitted by Mrs J Alford.

The 35-year-old barn was originally a piggery, and the plans had been to convert it into two three-bedroom homes and one two-bedroom home, but the proposal has now been withdrawn.

Planning applications in the Street area that have been submitted this week include:

Application for approval of details reserved by condition 3 (joinery details) on planning consent 2020/1144/HSE at 20 Wilfrid Road, Street, has been made by Mr and Mrs J Barclay.

Works on trees covered by preservation orders T4) Tilia spp - Reduce crown by: 1-2M; T5) Prunus Padus - Reduce crown by: 2-3M from lateral spread and prune; T7) Prunus Padus - Reduce crown by: 3-4M from lateral spread on land north of 19 Ringolds Way, Street, are wanted by Mr Jones.

Erection of a self-build dwelling with attached garage on land to the north of 2-8 Taunton Road, Ashcott, has been applied for by Mr and Mrs Wilkins.

Certificate of Lawfulness for the proposed erection of single storey extension on site of existing conservatory to be demolished at 12 Main Road, Shapwick, is wanted by Mr J Sellick.

Planning applications in the Street area that have been decided this week include:

Use of land for stationing mobile home for occupation by agricultural worker at Willow Bank Farm, Fosse Way, Lydford-on-Fosse, by Mr and Mrs W Cobden has been approved.

Erection of garden store and pergola (retrospective) at Ashgrove Cottage, Overleigh, Street, by Mr and Mrs Milner has been approved.

Demolish existing conservatory and erect new single storey rear extension at 66 Cranhill Road, Street, by Gemma Heal has been approved.

Application to vary condition 1 (drawings) and condition 10 (hard and soft landscaping, pre-Occupation) of planning approval 2020/0387/REM for the erection of 14 dwellings and associated access, matters of appearance/landscaping/layout/scale to be determined on site east of Toy Farm, Castle Cary Road, Lydford-on-Fosse, by Mr and Mrs S Barnes has been approved.

Change of use and conversion of an existing builder's store to form a residential dwelling at Court Barn, Brook Lane, Catcott, by Mr Brett has been approved.

Erection of dwelling with swimming pool and refurbishment of gardeners hut at The Walled Garden, Broadmead Lane, Edington, by Mr A Ulgat has been refused.
