Plans submitted to build two houses on the edge of Ashcott

A planning application has been submitted to build two houses on the edge of Ashcott.

The application for the building of two self-build dwellings, two double garages with hobby room above with associated external works and landscaping at 20 Bath Road, Ashcott, has been submitted to Sedgemoor District Council by Ethan and Michael Boxell.

The plan is to build two four-bedroom homes on the land, which is between M Franks and Sons funeral directors and Ashcott Appliances Online.

The buildings will be set back from the A39 to respect the existing linear settlement layout and pattern, and are to be constructed from a mix of natural stone with dressed stone quoins and window reveals, and clay tiled dual pitched roofs. To the rear and sides, the buildings will be clad with render.

Erection of a single storey extension to front elevation at 15 Taunton Road, Pedwell, has been applied for by Mr and Mrs Edmunds.

Approval of details reserved by conditions 3 (Surface Water Drainage System), 4 (Hard and Soft Landscaping), 6 (Arboriculture) and 11 (Service Entrance) on planning consent 2019/0950/FUL at Crispin Secondary School, Church Road, Street, by Mr Tom Payne has been given.

Two-storey rear extension at 3 Grange Avenue, Street, by Mrs T Furfaro has been approved.

Erection of a single storey rear extension at 64 Cranhill Road, Street, by Mr C Higgins has been approved.

Retrospective planning permission for the replacement of roofing felt, battens, barge and facia boards and replacement of roof tiles on existing roof (like for like) at Priest House, Ham Street, Baltonsborough, by G Payne has been withdrawn.

Works to trees in a Conservation Area T2 horsechestnut - 30 per cent reduction, T3 yew - 2m will be removed in height and spread, T4 and T5 Himalayan birch - prune approx 1-2m in lateral growth at Tor View Court, Somerton Road, Street, have been approved.

Change of use of part of horse paddock to garden at 9 The Nydon, Catcott, by Mr Holcombe has been approved.

Retrospective application for the erection of a garden room at 2 St Edwards Close, Chilton Polden, by Mr Steady has been approved.

Works to tree in a Conservation Area T3 horse chestnut - crown raise on east side 6m above ground level, remove 3 x 4 x 5 low branches, reduce regrowth branches on south east side by 35 per cent, reduce large stems from base east side by 25 per cent, shape back into other stems, reduce decayed branch on south east side at 6m above ground level at Edington House, Broadmead Lane, Edington, by Mr Sprawson have been approved.

Certificate of Lawfulness for the proposed erection of single storey extension to the rear (west) elevation on site of existing conservatory to be demolished at 12 Main Road, Shapwick, by Mr J Sellick has been given.
