Musicians from across all year groups at Millfield School in Street had the opportunity to work with Junior Academy (Royal Academy of Music) teacher and violinist Debbie Diamond in a masterclass on the Baroque period.

Debbie presented a brief lecture on notation, interpretation and technique in the baroque period and then later ran a rehearsal with selected musicians to implement some of the techniques discussed in the masterclass.

Debbie has been a regular member of the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment since 1999 and has worked for eminent conductors including Sir Simon Rattle, Sir Charles Mackerras, Sir Mark Elder, Vladimir Jurowski, Ivan Fischer, Sir Roger Norrington, Franz Bruggen and Masaaki Suzuki.

As a soloist, she has given recitals in Canada, the United States, Israel, Germany, Ireland and the United Kingdom.

Millfield musicians have worked with a number of world class musicians as part of the Millfield Music School's masterclass series, including Harry the Piano and BBC Big Band director, Barry Forgie.
