Clarks Village in Somerset will be sending extra special Christmas cards this year, thanks to the help of two Millfield Prep school children.

The premium shopping outlet's official Christmas cards for 2021 were designed by six-year-old Emily Warner and 10-year-old Sebbie Gray as part of a new art competition with Millfield Prep School. The winning designs were chosen amongst entries from across the school and have now been created into the two digital Clarks Village Christmas cards which will be distributed by the outlet and proudly displayed on its website and social media pages.

For her card design, Year Two pupil and animal lover Emily beautifully painted a festive-looking giraffe with a mountain of Christmas presents as tall as he is.

She commented: "I have loved giraffes ever since I had the chance to feed one at a zoo to raise money for their conservation. So I really wanted to draw a Christmas giraffe, which had been shopping at Clarks Village. I am really happy about winning the competition, it's exciting to know lots of people will see my painting. I love to draw and paint and want to be an artist when I grow up." Emily is now hoping she can stay up late enough to see Santa on Christmas Eve.

Also winning was Year Six pupil Sebbie with a more traditional design, featuring a meticulously-coloured Father Christmas with his arms wrapped around his friends.

Sebbie, who says he is excited to enjoy Christmas with his family, commented: "I thought I would combine my three favourite things at Christmas; Santa Claus, a reindeer and a snowman. I felt really excited to win and shocked at the same time. I am very happy I was chosen as the winner and I am looking forward to seeing my design being used by Clarks Village. I know my grandparents and family especially will be really proud of me."

Emily and Sebbie will also be given their own copies of their cards so they can send out to their family and friends.

Chris Davis, Centre Director at Clarks Village, commented "We were blown away by the amazing pictures created by Millfield Prep school children in our first Christmas card design competition. It was genuinely a tough job to choose the two winning designs but they were picked for being so creative while instantly putting a festive smile on our faces."
