Secondary NQT - Street

Five Education are seeking new secondary teaching graduates looking to break into the world of teaching in September 2020. Five Education works with schools within Somerset and the surrounding areas specialising in SEN.

Those graduates who wish to work with children who have additional needs such as Autism, ADHD, Downs Syndrome, Attachment Disorders and Challenging Behaviour will find plenty of experience in this area with Five Education.

Responsibilities include:

Delivering lessons in either in a mainstream or special school

Some mainstream school work may involve working in an SEN base or SEN class within the school

Managing pupil behaviour

Liaising with parents and SLT

Planning and marking can happen in long term roles but is not often required in day to day supply work

Differentiating work to meet the need of all the students in the class

Guiding and supporting teaching assistants

Teaching students with a range of needs in the same class

Essential criteria:

QTS, induction isn't necessary

Ideally, you'll have experience teaching or supporting children with SEND

At least 6 months' experience supporting or teaching children (PGCE/ B.Ed placements count)

Will have strong communication and empathy skills

Will have strong behaviour management skills

Will be flexible, adaptable and positive

Five Education is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all of the staff we employ to share this commitment. Successful applicants will be required to undergo checks including a barred list check, reference checks and will need to have a DBS; there will also be a face to face interview.

Job specifics:

Temporary, full time. £90 to £110 per day.

Personal Home Carer, Female - Street

Newcross Healthcare is seeking dedicated Female Personal Home Carers to care for our service users living with complex care needs in their own homes within Street, Yeovil and the surrounding areas. In this role, you'll work as part of a close-knit, collaborative team, delivering care in the home. Without support from people like you, these individuals may live a life in specialist units or hospitals, rather than in their own home.

You'll follow each individual's care plan, playing a key role in supporting them with daily tasks like eating, personal care, clinical needs, social activities and any additional services needed. You'll receive specialist training, tailored to the package of care you're assigned to.

The shifts are varied for this role but include 8 hours of sleep and sleep-in shifts and 24 hours shifts.

You'll be a true empath, with experience of caring professionally or for a loved one. You'll need to be happy assisting clients who may have limited mobility, and possess a valid Moving and Handling certificate. You'll be fuelled by your desire to be a true companion to the people in your care and build lasting relationships with them, their family and friends. Access to your own vehicle is desirable but not required.

Visiting Development Manager - Street

As Visiting Development Manager, you will contribute to our vision of being the leading residential property manager, as recognised by others by:

Ensuring there's a welcoming, friendly and courteous environment within the development

Making sure the building is well maintained and safe

Being exceptionally organised to stay on top of all the admin that comes with alongside communicating with the customers about upcoming changes, events or works

The Visiting Development Manager reports directly into the Area Manager.

About you:

You will currently be working within or have experience of a customer service environment and have a passion for providing an exceptional level of customer service at all times, ideally in a face to face environment.

Warm and friendly communication comes naturally to you, and you are able to resolve issues and any complaints effectively to the customers complete satisfaction quickly and efficiently.

You have experience of challenging and/or emergency situations and always remain calm and take the necessary actions with a high standard of professionalism. Health and safety is of great importance to you, and you have experience of performing daily checks and keeping accurate records to ensure everything is kept on track.

You are self-motivated and pro-active, you enjoy working independently but also enjoy having other supportive colleagues you can build relationships with at regular team meetings.

You are IT savvy and are confident in using laptops / tablets and are fluent in the different MS packages.

Your ideal role will be a varied one, where you're not stuck behind a desk all day; you enjoy working with people and helping to make a difference to enhance their lifestyle on a day to day basis.

Help build a sense of community by encouraging and supporting a Social Committee to plan and run social events for all residents.

Permanent, part-time. Salary £5,345 per annum.
