Community Care and Support Worker - Street

Somerset Care are looking for full and part-time Care and Support Workers to join our team working in Street, supporting Bovemoor Extra Care Housing. Also known as assisted living, Extra Care Housing is a local housing scheme that supports the elderly to remain living independently in the community they love, within self-contained accommodation and compassionately supported by our care teams 24/7.

As a Care and Support Worker you will need to be available to work 7am to 2pm and 4pm to 10pm, including alternate weekends. The work pattern runs over a two-week rota giving you a clear weekend off.

About the Care and Support Worker role:

You'll be joining a dedicated team of community health care professionals devoted to delivering quality care, supporting daily living routines and offering companionship in a way that shows our customers respect and kindness, just as they deserve. No two days are the same but each day you'll be rewarded by knowing you have made a real difference to those who need it most.

We match our support to each customers needs and so the ways in which this role helps, differs from customer to customer. From domestic duties, personal care and medication to emotional support, social interaction or accompanying customers to their appointments, the care plans are all tailored to the individual. The one thing that remains the same however, is the exceptional customer care we always promise to deliver.

About you:

You don't need experience do this role as we can give you all the training you need right from day one. What you need most of all is a desire to help, a passion for making a difference and to enjoy making someone's day that little bit easier. To join us you'll need:

  • A warm hearted, friendly manner, with lots of patience and a natural desire to help
  • A 'can do' attitude, with plenty of resilience and a communication style that is engaging
  • To be a real 'people person', able to build lasting relationships and work well in a team
  • To be confident with technology to manage customer care records and your work schedules
  • A full driving licence, with your own vehicle and willing to travel to various locations daily
  • Flexibility to provide cover for our out of hours service when needed

Residential Sales Manager - Street

Female Personal Home Carer - Street

As a Female Care Assistant in Street, Yeovil and the surrounds, you'll be the person that brings smiles to the faces of the people in our care.

This role is a chance to make a real difference to people's lives - without your support, they may live a life constrained to specialist units or hospitals.

Your duties will vary, including supporting our service users with personal care, feeding and PEG care, medication support, meal preparation, clinical needs, social activities and any other services needed. You'll work as part of a small team of health and social care workers in the homes of our clients.

Shifts for this role include 24-hour shifts, eight hours of sleep shifts and sleep-in shifts.

Minimum requirements:

You'll be a true empath, with experience of caring professionally or for a loved one. You'll need to be happy assisting clients who may have limited mobility, and possess a valid Moving and Handling certificate.

You'll be fuelled by your desire to be a true companion to the people in your care and build lasting relationships with them, their family and friends. Access to your own vehicle is desirable but not required.

Flexi Pay:

Flexi Pay allows you to choose when you get paid. All you need to do is submit your timesheets through our app and you'll be able to instantly withdraw up to 50 per cent of the value of your existing shifts even on weekends and bank holidays.
