A number of Grade II listed timber terraced chalets in Street are set to be renovated after planning approval was given by Mendip District Council.
The planning application for structural underpinning around the chimney at property number 25, to make good and refurbish all roof structures to properties with odd numbers from 25 to 37 and the change of roof tiles at the rear elevation to properties with odd numbers from 31 to 37 in Farm Road, Street, had been submitted by Street Properties LLP.
Built in 1921, properties 25 to 37 Farm Road are two individual rows of Grade II listed timber chalet terraced dwellings, all owned by Street Properties.
During inspections, it was discovered that there were signs of structural roof failure, while number 25 needed additional renovation work.
The planning application said: "These timber chalets are in a tender state, with evident signs of water ingress and cracking of which the remedial works will help to preserve these heritage assets for some years to come.
"Due to lack of reclaimed supply, a change of tile is necessary to protect the chalets with the tile chosen being sympathetic to the direct area."
