The A361 has been closed as a fallen tree has blocked the road between Ashcott and Pedwell.

With Storm Alex lashing the area with rain and strong winds, the tree has fallen across the road meaning it has been closed between the Pipers Inn junction with the A39 at Ashcott and Pedwell Hill.

While work to clear the road takes place, motorists are being advised to avoid the area and find an alternative route.

A weather warning for Storm Alex is currently in place from now until 8pm tonight (October 2), with the Met Office now issuing an amber warning for rain in the area from noon tomorrow until 6am on Sunday.
