Crispin School in Street has issued a statement this afternoon (Friday February 28) to clarify the latest situation over the recent trip to Italy and coronavirus.

The statement to Street Nub News said: "We will not comment on the personal circumstances of any individual connected to the school, but we can confirm that following a recent school trip to northern Italy the school sought and took advice from Public Health England concerning the coronavirus/Covid 19.

"The party did not visit one of the areas currently in lockdown but visited an area outside.

"The clear advice which has been followed, was that those who did not show any symptoms could attend school as normal.

"Any staff or pupils who went on the trip and who were exhibiting symptoms have stayed at home, self-isolated and called 111."
