Car queues at lunchtime as the McDonald's in Street reopens

Street residents were keen to get their first taste of a McDonald's again at lunchtime today (June 3) with queues through the restaurant's car park at 12.30pm.

Cars waited patiently in line around the car park for the drive-thru to serve them, and nearly out on to Gravenchon Way, as the establishment became the latest fast food trader to re-open following the Covid-19 lockdown.

Fears that the queues would block the Street bypass turned out to be unfounded at the time of writing, with staff at the restaurant keeping the flow of traffic into the McDonald's car park going smoothly.

The queues were set up in a similar way to a queue at a theme park, with a passageway marked out with cones, zig-zagging across the car park.
