Mendip District Council is calling for Street businesses to sign up for the launch of My Mendip, a website that brings local shopping to you.

My Mendip, which can be found here, is like a digital High Street where independent sellers can reach out to customers online and fulfil orders by mail or click and collect.

Businesses that choose to sign up for My Mendip will pay nothing but a payment processing fee at 1.4 per cent plus 20p for UK cards, for the first three months.

After that, a small additional fee will apply per transaction. There are no monthly or yearly subscription fees for having your products displayed, and there is no long-term commitment.

The My Mendip platform is launching to local businesses for sign ups next week, with a launch to the public the week of December 7, in time for Christmas shopping.

There are two introductory Zoom sessions on November 24 at 7pm and November 26 at 1pm, where local businesses will be walked through the process of signing up and making sales. Businesses can register for the Zooms via the website or by emailing [email protected].
