Four of the affordable homes at a new 26-home development in Chilton Polden will be larger than originally planned after approval for extensions was given approval.
A planning application for non-material amendment to Planning Permission 19/19/00007 (erection of 26 dwellings, supporting infrastructure, enabling works, public open space, landscaping and drainage infrastructure, plus formation of new vehicular access) to allow for an extension to the rear dwellings affecting the one-bedroom flats at plots 6, 7, 8 and 9 on land next to Hayne Walk, Chilton Polden, was submitted to Sedgemoor District Council by Persimmon Homes Severn Valley.
The company said it was submitting the revision to allow for the extensions following a request from the housing association it was working with.
In approving the scheme, the council said the changes are not considered to materially alter the character of the approved building or the impact of the approved scheme on the character of the surrounding area, or have a material impact on the privacy or amenity of any adjoining occupants.
Approval for the 26-home development was given in 2019, despite concerns from residents and the parish council, and half of the homes will be classed as affordable.
Other planning decisions in the Street area that have been made this week include:
Single-storey extension to rear and remodelling throughout at 13 Lias Road, Street, by Mr Dennis has been approved.
Single-storey side extension at Shaun Kim, Hindhayes Lane, Street, by Mr Burridge has been approved.
Temporary siting of static caravan to be used as accommodation while building works are completed at 8 Nidon Lane (as per planning application reference 14/20/00011) at 8 The Nydon, Catcott, by Mr Thomas has been approved.
