There are traffic delays in the Pedwell area this afternoon (August 3) as the A361 is closed in the village following a crash.

The incident happened at about 12.30pm at the junction of the A361 and Pedwell Hill, which heads up to the A39.

The A361 is closed from the junction with the A39 at the Pipers Inn junction in Ashcott to the junction with Nythe Road.

Pedwell Hill is closed completely from the A361 to the A39 near to the Albion Inn, and police are at the scene.

Due to the closure, there are traffic hold-ups throughout the area, with satellite traffic cameras showing delays on the A361 in the Greinton direction.

There are also hold-ups on the A39, at both of the junctions in Ashcott where the closures come into place.

It is not known at this time how long the road will be closed, and motorists are being advised to find an alternative route.
