A student at Crispin School in Street has been 'involved with a confirmed case of coronavirus' over the weekend.
In a letter to parents, the school has confirmed that is has been advised by Public Health England and Somerset County Council that there has been a confirmed case of Covid-19 involving a student in Year 8.
The letter said: "We are continuing to monitor the situation and are working closely with Public Health England and Somerset County Council Public Health.
"The school remains open and, providing your child remains well, they can continue to attend school as normal. We will keep this under review."
However, as of today (September 21) the Year 8 bubble has moved into a Tier 2 lockdown, which means that none of the students in that year will be able to attend school until Thursday October 1.
They will be taught remotely for the next eight schools days, will all the students expected to attend "virtual lessons" each day.
