Signage at the new Calvin Klein store in Clarks Village, Street, has finally been given the green light by Mendip District Council.

A planning application for an illuminated facia sign and a non-illuminated hanging sign at Unit 26, Clarks Village, Farm Road, Street, was submitted by the store before it opened last month.

However, revised plans had to be drawn up which provided additional information relating to the fixing of the signage to the building, and reduced the scale of the signage to reduce the impact upon the entrance way, and these have now been given the thumbs up.

One other planning application in the Street area has been decided upon this week:

The building of a two-storey extension to the west and east elevations including the raising of the roof height and building of a single-storey replacement garage at Dorian Cottage, 5 Steel Lane, Catcott, by Mr P Cumming has been approved.

Planning applications in the Street area that have been submitted this week include:

T1 - sycamore - reduce lower crown by 5m covered by TPO M1288 at 30 Ash Road, Street, has been applied for by Mr Derek Robson.

Application for a non-material amendment to permission 2020/0850/HSE for the additiona of a window and one set of double doors to rear elevation and repositioning of roof lights at 1 Gilberts Corner, Burnetts Lane, Baltonsborough, has been made by Mr and Mrs Swayne.

Demolition of part of existing single-storey element and alterations to retained outbuilding, erection of a two-storey and single-storey extension to main dwelling, together with internal and external alterations at Greenway Farm, Greinton Road, Greinton, are wanted by Mr and Mrs Davey.

Erection of a two-storey extension, on site of existing lean to and single-storey garage to be demolished at Moorvale, Pit Hill Lane, Moorlinch, has been applied for by Mr Malecki.
