New dental practice in Street given the go-ahead

A new dental practice could be coming to Street after the change of use for a building in the centre of the village was given the green light.

A planning application by Mr James Main to change the use of a commercial unit from Class A2 Financial and Professional to Class D1 Dental Practice and Class A1 Oral Health Shop, including internal alterations at 50 High Street, Street, has been approved by Mendip District Council planners.

Other planning applications submitted in the Street area in the last week include:

Works to trees in a conservation area: T1 - Birch - cut back from telegraph poles; T2 - Birch - light pruning; T3 - Hawthorn - light pruning; T4 - Birch - reduce a small amount at Mulberry Cottage, High Street, Butleigh, are wanted by Mrs Christine Simpson.

Planning applications in the Street area decided this week include:

Application for a certificate of lawful existing development for the use of land as a caravan site at Sam's Yard, Allotment Drove, Walton, by Mrs Ann Lee has been refused.

Application to vary condition 6 (trading hours) of planning approval 2015/1558/FUL (change of use and works to update premises) to allow for later trading hours Thursday to Saturday by an additional 30 minutes at The Lantokay, 111-113 High Street, Street, by Miss Emma Fallon has been approved.

Application for approval of details reserved by conditions 8 (no occupation of numbers 5-7 soft landscape scheme), on planning consent 2019/1893/FUL at 1 to 7 West End, Street, has been approved.
