Millfield School in Street given the green light to build shipping container cafe

A new shipping container cafe in going to be built in Street after Millfield School was given planning permission for the project.

An application from the school's estates surveyor Ashley Bargery for the installation of a shipping container to be used as a cafe at their athletics ground has been approved by Mendip District Council planners.

The cafe will be situated between swimming pool and athletics track within the Millfield sports complex on Butleigh Road.

The container will be painted blue, with external landscaping to accommodate a small seating area.

Planning applications in the Street area that have been received this week include:

Erection of front porch at 13 Stonehill, Street, has been applied for by Mrs Samantha Costanza.

Erection of single storey extension to west elevation at 8 South Street, Walton, is wanted by Ms Su Chilcott.

Replacement of existing ATM header signage to comply with new HSBC UK branding at 101 High Street, Street, has been requested by Mr Ben French.

Planning applications in the Street area that have been decided this week include:

Proposed conversion of barn into dwelling at Old Farm, Southwood Lane, Baltonsborough, by Mr Steve Davis has been approved.

Erection of a cabin and small patio on land at Honeymead Lane, Baltonsborough, by Iris Goodby has been withdrawn.

Erect a first floor side extension and a single storey rear extension at 29 Tynings Road, Street, by Alex Lester has been approved.
