Layout revealed for proposed modernisation of outdoor spaces at Clarks Village in Street

The team behind the modernisation of two outdoor spaces at Clarks Village in Street have revealed their proposed layouts.

A planning application for public realm works including hard and soft landscaping, and installation of seating, planters, waste bins, lighting and associated street furniture has been submitted to Mendip District Council by the shopping centre.

The images supplied to Street Nub News by Clarks Village are the proposed new layouts of the Central Square area and Timberland Square.

Chris Davis, centre director at Clarks Village, said: "We aim to provide the best guest experience we can and our plans are to enhance two key locations within Clarks Village, the central area near Calvin Klein and Timberland Square.

"The plans include improvements for guests such as additional seating, outdoor furniture and landscaping while providing improved access to our brand partners.

"As well as enhancing the centre's facade and guest experience, it is a timely opportunity for us to make changes that suit current social distancing guidelines."

Other planning applications in the Street area that have been submitted this week include:

Extend existing single storey 'lean to' at the rear of the property with associated internal works at 20 Wilfrid Road, Street, has been applied for by Mr and Mrs Barclay.

Demolish existing storage building and replace with new store and first floor annex, provide additional off road parking spaces at Butleigh Post Office, High Street, Butleigh, is wanted by Mr and Mrs P Harwood.

Change of use and conversion of an existing builder's store to form a residential dwelling at Court Barn, Brook Lane, Catcott, has been applied for by Mr Brett.

Planning applications in the Street area that have been decided this week include:

Application for approval of details reserved by conditions 4 (ventilation system), on planning consent 2018/2640/FUL at The Village Store, Church Lane, Baltonsborough, by Mrs Naomi Giaretta has been approved.

First floor extension over existing kitchen/bathroom at Cold Harbour Cottage, Back River Drove, Sharpham, by Mr and Mrs Blinman has been approved.

Erection of single storey rear extension at 1 Gilberts Corner, Burnetts Lane, Baltonsborough, by Mr and Mrs Swayne has been approved.

Application for approval of reserved matters following outline approval 2016/2701/OTS for the erection of 14 dwellings and associated access, matters of appearance/landscaping/layout/scale to be determined on a site east of Toy Farm, Castle Cary Road, Lydford-on-Fosse, by Mr and Mrs S Barnes has been approved.

Erection of two detached dwellinghouses and garages at The Cedars, 48 Bath Road, Ashcott, by Messrs Griffiths has been withdrawn.
