Petrol station with electric car charging planned for Oaklands Nursery site in Street

Symonds Estates, the developer of roadside service areas, is bringing forward proposals to introduce a new petrol station, electric vehicle charging and 15 new jobs in Street.

Symonds Estates is proposing a new vehicle service area and petrol station at the site of the existing Oaklands Nursery garden centre, which the owners are proactively looking to sell.

The proposals would introduce four electric vehicle charging points in Street. As the market evolves, the site will also meet changing needs, such as additional electric charging and hydrogen fuelling.

As well as providing increased fuel choice and competition, the proposals would create 15 new jobs (full-time equivalent), including roles in management, sales and food preparation.

A planning application will be submitted to Mendip District Council shortly and local residents are encouraged to provide feedback online at:
